We had a wonderful time at Balinakill. It is a beautiful house, thank you.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The house has a warm, homely feel.
Thanks again for a memorable stay.
Kind regards, Lindsey, September 2016

As I told you when we met ever so briefly as we were departing on Friday morning both our families (Camerons and Scott-Moncrieffs) had a marvellous time, blessed by that exceptional weather, and I am sure we shall be back!
With best wishes

We had an amazing time at Balinakill (how could anyone not?). The lack of wifi we understood was not a quick fix. Apart from some hong kong high fliers (who parked themselves in tarbert twice to connect to their offices) , we actually enjoyed being unconnected. The kids played instead (piano, chess football etc). There was excitement on the wildlife cruise in mallaig (which did have some connection);when a sea pokemon was spotted and captured. We have a zillion lovely photos if you would like any more for your collection…we especially enjoyed the bar in the evening as we had a number of musicians with us.
Definitely the best reunion venue ever!
Thanks so much again. Jackie, August 2016

Ann, I just have to drop you a note to tell you how wonderful our weekend was at your lovely home. It has everything anyone could ever want.
We celebrated my daughters 21st, my in-laws Golden wedding and my niece made her first communion on the Sunday and overall we managed to get the full 34 members of our family, aged 6 months to 84 into one place for a weekend. We BBQ’d, we breakfasted around the kitchen table, we partied in the sun room and we had a couple of formal dinners in the dining room. We socialised in the bar until the wee small hours. We had family from the US, Poland, Ireland and Essex as well as the people from the Balloch area. To a person they could not believe how I found the house and how wonderful it was.
Thank you so much for all the help you have given me getting things set up.
It was my first visit to Ballinakall, I hope it certainly won’t be the last. I will recommend it vigorously to anyone who is looking for a location for a big family and/or friends get together.Thank you again.

We had the most wonderful week at Balinakill – and it was definitely made extra special by the house. Everyone enjoyed Balinakill and couldn’t get over how grand it was. But also with it being so grand, each room felt extremely comfortable and quite homely.

I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed it and it was everything we imagined and more. I would be delighted to send a review. I also want to mention that Uta was great and we really felt looked after and if there was anything that we needed, if wouldn’t have been a problem. Also the gardener, sorry I have forgotten his name, was lovely.

Hi Ann, sorry for late reply. Yes , reluctantly we all got home safely . Everyone had a fantastic time , especially the young children , who were crying when we had to leave ! You have a beautiful house, we were giggling with delight as we drove up the drive and walking into the house, seeing the grand stair case at the end of the hallway was overwhelming. We had 3 musicians amongst us and had fantastic nights in the bar singing along to the guitars . Unfortunatley the musicians were more willing than the chefs , so we didn’t use the catering kitchens and the mums continued to cook in the house kitchen but it was very kind of John to allow us the option . You are right about the amazing scenery on the drive from Glasgow. It was stunning and we are now going to come to Campbell’s town in the summer in our campervan, so the house has done a great job of promoting tourism in that area! Thankyou again to you and you’re team for enabling my family to have an unforgettable time together.  Sue,February 2015

Hi Ann, We are just home now after an absolutely fantastic weekend at your beautiful home. All 7 families had such a lovely time and we have all said we’d love to come again next year (if we’re welcome back). I’m pretty sure we left everything as we found it and followed the instructions re oven and recycling. There’s been tears at bedtime tonight from lots of children that wish they were still ‘at the big house with all their friends’ and my daughter has asked why we can’t just buy it!!! Bless her…..lottery win is needed. So, thanks again for all your help with the organising and planning – it really made my life an awful lot easier. It really was just fabulous. Kindest regards, Kim , February 2016

Dear Ann and Ian, The party went fantastically well and the star of the evening was Balinakill House! What a venue for a party! Thank you for helping to make Dave’s 21st celebration so memorable. I hope he and his friends were not too raucous. Our family and friends loved their stay. Phil and I are already thinking about another excuse to have another party there! Many thanks and all the best, Susan, September 2015

I would like to thank you for the perfect party venue. We all had such a great time at Balinakill. I am just about unpacked. We got way too much food but just an excuse to have another party! We did have an accident with one of your photos in the sun lounge. I’m afraid it fell off the wall and smashed the glass. Luckily one of the boys is a framer who has fixed the frame and replaced the glass. I will take it back down on Wednesday before your next guests. I have spoken to Uta. My apologies for that. The house is so wonderful and all the rooms are done beautifully. It was so nice to have friends from all over who came together and all seemed to have a great night. There were many who haven’t had that much to drink in a while… It was the place and atmosphere to do it. I was listening in the hall at one point to the chilled out talking in the lounge, some more chatting in the sun lounge while playing pool and singing coming from the bar. It was so nice just to hear all the happy noises. I even had a song made for me from one of the guys. We even stayed in bed for bit of lie in one morning (unheard of for us) because it was so nice. We all agreed this should be done again. I am looking forward to the next person organising it! Thank you again for creating such a wonderful place. Hopefully be back again! Yours sincerely, Mo , April 2015

We really all had a cracking time and the whole group was blown away by the house and the weekend. A lot of the credit for that goes to you for all your tips and advice so I really am very grateful. You had 24 very approving customers so hopefully the word of mouth will spread! Bob and the other instructors at the Gun Club were absolutely incredible. That was a real highlight and everyone felt that the £30 a head was well worth what we got there. Thanks again Andy McQueen , April 2014

Just wanted to say what a fantastic weekend we had – obviously helped by the weather! As a group we have been going away together for 15 or so years now and this trip to balinakill was without doubt one of the best. The house and garden were great with plenty of space for everyone but still felt homely. The bar was a massive hit – we’ll order toe kegs next time!! Most peopled comments were that the only downside was that we didn’t book for a week!
We used the butcher in tarbet as well who was really helpful. We have all said we really hope we can do another break there at some point. Many thanks for your help in the run up to the week and hopefully we will be back sometime. James Brown,  April 2014

A bridge not too far !! My group of bridge students spent a lovely week playing bridge in the superb surroundings at Balinakill. We so enjoyed the magnificent countryside taking a long walk every morning and then enjoying the culinary delights provided by Val Marshal. Every bedroom had its own special feature and the facilities for wining and dining in style were of a good standard. Although David and Val from PEP cars offer a superb car service be aware of the remoteness and limited local supplies and get a delivery from Waitrose or M&S. Carol on the Isle of Islay is a great guide for your distillery trip. Marilyn Nathan, April 2014

My goodness gracious.
I don’t have the words yet to describe how wonderful our weekend was. Mairi, May 2014

Thank you again. You and the house were amazing. Andrew, April 2014

Just a quick note to say how very much we enjoyed our weekend at
Balinakill. It was all that I’d hoped it would be and more. Thank you
for all your help and advice. Below are the links to some of the
photos taken while we were there, please feel free to use them if you
like any. Julie Brace, October 2013

…. And the doll babies Ellie carried around are from Balinakill’s children’s room   : ) Your music room was a popular place with our group!! Believe me:  I am treating you like family–sending you LOTS of the photos of our time together at Balinakill.  Hope you can enjoy them and see all the smiles and feel the pleasure!  We all said it was the Best. Vacation. Ever.   : )

Hi Ann just wanted to say that we had a lovely week at balinakill. Super house for large get togethers. Will certainly recommend.
Many thanks again,
Dawn Arbuthnot, August 2013
Just to say we had a great time at the house and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. We left a glowing report in the visitors book.

We all had a great time – the house is lovely, so much space for us all, yet very ‘homely’. We set a treasure hunt one evening for the children, around the communal areas, they had great fun trying to find the ‘singer’, an elephant teapot and even what Highlander Cameron was doing in 1828…
